About Us

We are MilTech Latvia - the Latvian Military Technology, Drones & Robotics Association, whose goals are:

01 Industry Collaboration

Foster collaboration among companies developing and producing modern military technologies, robotics, and drones

02 Industry Development

Support the development of military technology, drone, and robotics innovations, as well as cooperation between industry and other sectors

03 Government Relations

Promote cooperation and communication with government institutions, other industry associations, and unions in Latvia and abroad

04 Strengthening Supply Chains

Support the involvement of the Latvian industry in international supply chains, particularly NATO and EU military technology initiatives

05 Promoting National Security

Promote national security, economic growth, and export capacity while respecting the Constitution and regulatory framework

06 Product Development Support

Support members in the development, improvement and promotion of new products

Since 2024, MilTech Latvia has served as an official representative on the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Defence, ensuring the industry’s voice is heard in shaping national defense policy

Director

Retired Naval Officer with extensive service experience, including operational experience in international environments. Has served in Command positions. Holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the Latvian Maritime Academy and a Mini MBA in Innovation Management from Riga Business School. Graduated with distinction from the Latvian National Defence Academy and the U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport, Rhode Island

Latvian-born economist and entrepreneur who, after emigrating to the U.S., continued research work at the New York Department of Finance and Taxation. As an entrepreneur, co-founded ISP Optics and UAV Factory, both later sold to U.S. corporations. In 2022, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Latvian Academy of Sciences. Currently, he serves on the boards of several international technology companies and funds and is a visiting professor at the University of Latvia and Riga Technical University

Co-founder and CEO

Leads a technology startup developing advanced autonomous unmanned aerial weapon systems. Previously, he was one of the founders of Airdog—the world’s first automatically following drone for extreme sports—which was acquired in 2020 by the U.S. technology company Alarm.com. He has extensive experience in business development and early-stage startup management, with a particular focus on drone technologies and innovations

AMMUNITY
Chairwoman of the Board

Experienced business executive, currently serving as Chairperson of the Board at ammunition manufacturer AMMUNITY. Began her professional career in the banking sector, led the logistics company OMNIVA Latvia for an extended period, and has served on the board of the Postal Operators Association. Holds a Master’s degree in Management from the Executive MBA program at Riga School of Economics (SSE Riga)

The association’s statutes define its goals, term of operation, conditions for joining, leaving, and expulsion, the rights and obligations of members and associate members, procedures for convening member meetings and making decisions, as well as the roles and activities of the board and executive body.
