Defence Innovations
HYPERSONICA
MilTech Latvia associate member Hypersonica has successfully completed its first hypersonic test flight at the Andøya Space Center in Norway. This marks the first time a privately funded European defence company has achieved such a technological milestone.
Hypersonica’s missile prototype accelerated to speeds exceeding Mach 6, reaching a range of more than 300 km. The system’s performance was successfully validated down to the subcomponent level at hypersonic speeds.
FRANKENBURG TECHNOLOGIES
At the Ādaži NATO base in Latvia, our member Frankenburg Technologies successfully executed the first full kill-chain hard-kill intercept against a fast-moving aerial target with its Mark 1 missile.
This milestone represents a breakthrough in European defence innovation — a true “SpaceX moment” for the missile industry — introducing affordability and scalability to a traditionally high-cost, low-volume sector. Mark 1 is the first guided missile designed for mass manufacturing using commercially available components and was developed from concept to live fire in just 13 months.
Industry Support Services
Our associate members provide tailored services designed to meet the specific needs of the security and defense industry—supporting both Latvian manufacturers and operators, as well as foreign partners seeking to enter the Latvian market
