In 2026, Latvia will invest over EUR 2.16 billion, or 4.91% of its GDP, to strengthen its defense—marking the largest defense budget in the country’s history.

In 2026, Latvia will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 0.25% of the national GDP, equivalent to EUR 110 million.
